Tire retreading

Experience in tire retreading since 1975

Top quality & reliability

Our company’s goal is to manufacture and supply quality retreaded tires to our customers (fleets, tire shops, individual motorists, vulcanizers) based on the strict rules set by BANDAG AG for their construction.

The quality of our tires is certified every year by leading certification companies in Germany, successfully passing the most demanding tests following the guidelines of the European Union for retreading (ECE 109).

Modern machines, high quality materials, know-how and prompt service guarantee the high quality of our products and services.

Why choose the retreading solution?

Reducing tire costs starts with getting the maximum out of the tire’s total life. With Total Tire Life, built around Bridgestone’s premium new tire and Bandag retread products, we can help you to control your operating costs
through concentrating on reducing the tire cost/km over their entire lifecycle.

CASINGS THAT
ARE BUILT TO LAST

Maximizing the life of your tires and thus minimizing your costs

  • Ingeniously built, using the most advanced technologies.
  • Strong structure, increasing the stability, durability and multiple retreadability of your tires.

SUPERB
NEW TIRES

A long first life, without compromising on performance and safety

  • Renowned quality
  • Complete range of steer, drive and trailer tires, covering all sizes, applications and seasons.
  • Ecopia, low rollling resistance tires for increased fuel savings and reduced environmental impact.

BANDAG
RETREADS

Similar performance to new, at 30% lower cost. With no compromise on safety

Bandag offers a wide range of patterns, covering all possible applications and
driving conditions in Europe, with no compromise.

REDUCED COST PER KILOMETER

Retreads deliver on average 30% lower cost per kilometer than new tires. The more times a casing can be retreaded the lower the Total Tire Life cost is.

With total savings of up to 19% if you have a second retread

Phase 1: Initial visual inspection

Highly trained specialists perform a thorough visual inspection of the tire casing before any other process steps are allowed to be made. The Bandag retreading process requires a sound starting point, so this initial inspection already rejects casings which are damaged too much.

This is the first step in ensuring that a Bandag is a Bandag, anywhere and always.

Phase 2: Buffing

A buffng machine then removes excess remaining rubber from the casing and restores it to its ideal dimensions, preparing it to receive its new tread.

Thanks to the Bandag technology, the process and the accuracy, our specialists can make sure that individual casings will be turned into identical Bandag retreads.

Phase 3a: Skiving

During the skiving process, any superficial damages to the casing are carefully cleaned out. If required, section repairs will also be made at this stage.

This is also the moment when the Bandag operator can “save” your casing asset from the scrap pile.

This process step serves a double purpose. It ensures that the casing is totally clean and ready to be retreaded, but it also guarantees that your retread will stay in good shape until the end of its new life… ready for possibly yet another retreading process!

Phase 3b: Glue application

By applying glue to the tire to be retreaded, we ensure on the one hand the complete sealing and protection of the tire from external oxidation of the environment and on the other hand the absolute welding of tire and tread, offered by the high quality materials of Bandag.

Phase 3c: Filling wounds

The tire is filled with non-vulcanized Bandag material, with a heated pistol, in certain degrees, covering any wounds & abrasions that may exist.

Phase 4a: Tread preparation

At this stage, the pre-cured Bandag tread is prepared for treading by placing a pre-vulcanized lightweight layer of rubber on it, which is the connecting link between the sole and the stem.

This process is done with a specific pressure of pressing the rubber and the tread, in order to minimize the possibility of any detachment.

Phase 4b: Treading

At this stage, the Bandag pre-cured tread, with its purposely developed pattern and compound, is applied to the prepared casing.

After careful measurement and tread-preparation, the building process finally transforms the previously worn out tires into brand new Bandag retreads.
A layer of uncured rubber, which is applied between the casing and the new tread, will ensure a permanent bond between the two after the curing process.

Here again, a specialized operator uses high-tech Bandag equipment to ensure perfect uniformity and top quality finishing.

Phase 5a: Preparation for curing (vulcanizing)

The process of preparation for vulcanization, requires an airtight vacuum air absorption housing (6 Bar), which “ties” and presses the tire with air pressure.

Phase 5b: Curing (Vulcanizing)

The curing – or “vulcanizing” – process permanently bonds the new Bandag tread to the worn out casing.

After the tire is wrapped in an air-tight envelope, pressure and temperature are applied to transform the layer of uncured rubber into a final and irreversible elastic state.

This ensures that the casing and tread will never separate again… until the next Bandag retreading process, of course!

Phase 6: Final inspection

After finishing and final inspection, be it visual or machine inspection, the Bandag operator approves the retreaded tire for sale.

He makes sure that the final product is a real Bandag and that it looks like a Bandag!
